Snowboarder's Ankle

Snowboarder’s Ankle presents as extreme tenderness and swelling to the affected area, with sensitivity to pressure around the back of the ankle.
‘Lateral process fracture of the talus’ is the medical term to define this injury, which occurs when the foot is forced upward and into inversion (towards the body’s centre) or eversion (away from the body’s centre) while strapped into Snowboard boots. This most often occurs when jumping and landing from a height.
Immobilisation of the ankle from point of diagnosis is a common treatment to assist in healing of the injury. Bodyassist products are designed to provide maximum protection while healing as well as further support to assist in the swift recovery from injury.
